BlueStacks brings nearly half a million Android apps to Windows 8 users. Using a mouse and keyboard isn’t that great though. BlueStacks makes playing Android apps on your Windows PC possible. Asus has teamed up with them so that now all their up and coming Windows 8 PCs will have it installed by default.
It is great news for fans of Asus and those that want to upgrade to Windows 8 in the near future. The official Win8 operating system by Microsoft has yet to come out. Fans know that it will be great for touchscreen devices and it will challenge the Android OS directly.
Being able to play your Android Apps on your Windows PC has been made possible, but is it worthwhile. Will people actually want this? The cloud software has made dreams possible, but will people be willing to pay money for this service.
Paying money to buy apps is one thing, but paying for a service is another. There is an ARM based Windows operating system, so Android can dual boot on the same device. Android is also trying to get their stuff working on x86 hardware and so is Windows trying to work on getting its OS working on ARM.
Android has its advantages, but it is no Windows. Windows has been around for yonks and people have been made accustomed to using a mouse and keyboard. Touch systems are getting better, but still yet to prove to be as productive as a mouse and keyboard system.
Playing Android applications on a Win PC sounds nice, but we don’t think it is for us.
