The 2012 AFL round 17 preview of the Geelong versus Essendon match is out. Essendon had a great game in round 16 and they will do well against the Cats. Etihad Stadium is where the two teams will meet this week on Friday. Essendon had a 50 point win over Port Adelaide and Geelong struggled against Collingwood in AFL round 16. Going by face value, the Bombers should be able to win by roughly 20 points.
It is Friday night footy at its best, with two great sides fighting for a comfortable place in the top 8. Both teams have tough runs to the finals and will need to win a large percentage of their up coming matches.
2012 AFL round 17 preview of Geelong versus Essendon Q&A:
Where is the match played? Etihad Stadium
When is it going to be played? Friday 20th of July 2012 at 7.50pm
What happened the last time they met? Essendon won by 4 points, 115-111 at round 15 2011 (Etihad Stadium)
Collingwood beat the Cats easily last week, so Geelong need to improve if they are to take on the Bombers. Essendon can secure a top 4 position if they win the Friday night match. They are doing great this year and will surely be part of the top 8 this year.
Tom Hawkins really needs to improve his goal kicking skills. The Cats currently sit at 5 losses for the year. This will be the first time they reach 6 losses in a year, ever since 2006.
We at egglets are tipping Essendon by 20 points. It will be a very tough game, but they should be able to pull through.
